A buddy at Sea Otter said they are charging non-competitors to watch the DS and DH. WTF?

Sram is just a sponsor of the sea otter, not the event promoter.
There was no charge to watch particular events, just a general admission charge for non-racers (kids were free) to gain entry to the grounds.
    Parking was free.

This is why I dont race or watch/attend races. Everyone has their hand in your pocket...

That plus the fact that I am really slow.

Maybe mtn bike racing is getting so popular that they have to impose some type of admission fee just to control the hundreds of thousands of fans that show up at all of these races?

Mt. Snow used to charge $10 to park at national even if you had a number plate.

There was security at both DH and DS entry points checking wrist bands at Sea Otter. I assume fallout from the Boston incident.
