4:17 p.m. - The officials have ruled that riders' finishing times will be applied on the first lap, given that the roads on the Champs-Élysées are so slick. That means that Armstrong, assuming he makes it to the the Champs-Élysées, will win the 2005 Tour de France on the first lap.

4:25 p.m. - The peloton crosses the finish line and it's official. Because of the rain rule, Armstrong can't lose the 2005 Tour de France... meaning that... [it's over] at least as far as the yellow jersey is concerened.

Never doubted for a second!

Sucks for Leipheimer getting punched out of the top 5 on the last stage. Props to Vino for putting the Attack Mother ****er Attack strategy to good use. Impressive #7 for Lance.

what exactly was wrong with it?

It's the first time the TDF has let the winner give a speech. I didn't think was that bad, he didn't use words like stratergery, defensify, rebuildification, wor on terra, like some Texans.
