They should just send more National Guard over there.
Then tap into local police and fire departments.
Pinkerton Security that works the Intel parking lot doesn't seem to be all that busy either.
just give gary busey an m16 and a couple hand grenades and ship him over there.
...and California wants it's sh1t back.
Arnie is planning a new movie. Needs some props...
those are the rent-a-cops that are guarding the Air Base now days..
Your Navy bases too, numbnuts.
of course these rentacops types are in improvement over the avg SF troop that used to do it... now those types are relegated to sitting in vehicles ready to block an invading gate runner....
I have a deep hatred of rent-a-cops. Dumb ass jumped-up little hitlers.
I feel safer already.
well, the AF is supposed to make gate guards a federal civilian job later this fiscal year and cancel the rentacops contract.
feel better now?
The Air Force guards their gates with attack dogs.
The Navy uses Marines.
The Air Force got first pick.
We had a contract lapse, new minority owned company jumped in. (Same employados...different shirts) Now they have announced the GS-ification of the gates. New company will get about 5 months out of it. Sucks to be them...
The "avg sf troop" is usually just waiting for some c*ck sucking Navy queer to come along and act like he knows everything. So the SF troop can ignore the Navy morons inane ramblings, and tell him to get back to his boat. The Marines need someone to do their laundry...
Recent enlisted millionaire to do 3rd tour in SW Asia...
What I find most interesting about that story is that it is a story at all. The crux of the reporting is that here is a guy who is rich but is going to go to a war zone anyway. The implication being that most rich people would not do so, maybe even that it is hard to believe that someone who had just won $1million would do so. Which further implies that being part of the military is not valued that highly in most parts.
They will likely kick him out. There was a guy in boot camp who's wife hit the lottery and he was kicked out within 2 weeks. If you have a sh!tload of money, your attitude sucks and it will have a negative effect on troop morale.
most rich people are not 18-35 y.o., and those who are tend to be athletes, actors, and other sorts who are into themselves.
He is honoring a commitment he made to his unit, his comrades and his country. I find that cool...
Plus, it will take awhile for the $$ to come in anyway, may as well stay busy. And to buy a home in the Mt Spokane area, a decent one anyway, he will need the juing.
Ok, maybe they need ditch diggers, even rich ones. Back in the day they would have processed him out. But troop level being what they are, they might keep him.
if we had millionaires in the military, wouldn't this contribute to the "problem" of underemployment? it's good for the economy to get welfare moms in the corps
this really rich kid would disagree..
He did a hell of a lot more for his military service than GWB did. Ironic that GWB gave him a place to serve as well, it would seem.
