What saddles do y'all use? I an looking for a cross-country saddle that could also be used for a bit of commuting, and have what I like to call 'widely spaced seat bones' so it needs to be wide and comfy. I do like the look of the Brooks B-17, but brooks list it as a trekking saddle, not a MTB one. Other options - SDG Grand Prix, WTB Rocket V Stealth...

Anyone else out there with wide seat bones care to toss in an opinion? :thumb:

I have a prolink on my heckler that I love... but for my hardtail.. i prefer the wtb stealth saddle.. it offers a little more cushioning without feeling bouncy

The WTB Pure V would probably be a better bet than the narrow(er) Rocket. The Pure is basically a larger scaled Rocket built for bigger riders.

Saddles are a pretty personal thing, you should try to sit on a few and see what fits you best.

That said, I love the shape and size of most WTB saddles.

Definitely try some out... like frames, it's all about personal fit/preference.

I have a Selle Italia Nixe that I really like... have an SDG on my other bike that is ok... a WTB that I hate, and a Fi zik on my roadie that is ok.

I have a WTB saddle on my Titus. Not sure exactly what model, but it's cheap as saddles go. I like it so much, I bought another WTB for my XC bike.

My ureoligist (SP ? ) recommends a Womens Split rail Saddle for every one men and Women. you know so you don't need Viagra later in life. He was saying on the split rail saddles womans saddle are farther apart then on a mens

I actaully have one on my Rocky Mt and it is very comfy.

Go to a shop that carries Specialized. Specialized now makes 2-3 of their models in different widths. The shop should have a special seat you can sit on that forms an impression of your seat bones. Based on that, you can select the width that matches your structure.

Why are womens saddles more comfy than mens? I raced on my gf's bike with a Titec Nixi (WSD Saddle) and wasn't sore at all...it's hella comfier than any other XC saddle I've ridden on, especially my current SDG Sattelite...

I have a new Ti railed WTB Speed She and it's comfy :thumb: Sq-Earl likes his WTB Rocket V Saddle and the one that came on his Yeti (but I think it's the same model as the Rocket V just different cover).
