Not good enough IMO. Artest should be out of the league for that crap. The other guys out for the season. Reggie Miller? He should just be ashamed of himself.

I think the penalties were okay, maybe they could have been a little harsher. I just hope that asshat fan who got his grill detailed doesn't get a cent.

WHOA. Artest's suspension is HUGE and I applaud the NBA for not being easy on these guys. I was hoping for a one year suspension for Artest, but this is pretty good. You can pretty much kiss Indiana's playoff hopes good bye. They are going to SUCK this year.

Agreed...except for wallace. He retaliated against another player, no biggy in comparison...

Artest should be done, for life.

Sounds like David Stern's takin care of business and cleanin house. His interview was telling on the direction he's gonna be taking in not tolerating this crap.

Yeah, he looked pretty pissed in the news conference. Apparently the local DA is also reviewing the situation and video to see if criminal charges may be filed against the players and fans involved. :nope:

I miss the NHL. Fighting is just another day in the office there. Maybe not with fans but it is so cool to see a fight and the only penalty is a 5 minute time out.

Half the reason I stopped watching it is because hockey has been americanized. The fighting has been severly dumbed down. Rules are too strict creating an even more dangerous game with stick handling. Hockey has gone down the dumper since 93

Yeah, and you know how us silly Americans are totally against fighting.
For example, this weekend, I watched the Piston/Pacers brawl, the Clemson/Carolina thugfest, then flipped over to HBO for the Sugar Shane/Winky Wright fight, caught some ultimate fighting on Fox Sports channel, and last but not least, turned to CNN for some real fighting.

Don't blame us because Hockey is super lame to watch. We would add
automatic weapons to it if we could. :p :blah:

(this post is just a joke, and I do not condone violence of any kind, unless it is used to stop another Tim McGraw/Nelly duet.)

Not against fighting. Bettman tried to put to many rules into something totally raw. I realize you guys like fighting, sheesh :D ;)...instigator rules, maxxed out penalties etc...there are many rules put in handcuffing players. The reason why we have more high sticking and blatant stick shots to hands and heads is the lack of ability to throw down and get equal time in the penalty box. They should pull back all the rules against fighting, keep the rules for high sticking and allow some serious throw downs again.

Agreed 100%....
