And this board (including myself) is generally against the use of Atomlab products due to poor reliability and even worse customer service. As far as the state of the company, I have no clue. But knowing how things generally work around here, dirtdevil will probably throw in his 2 cents about how Mike Flaherty (Atomlab owner) is overworked, underrated, broke, etc.
I've ridden a front 20mm 26" trailpimp for almost year and it was 'pretty strong' and heavy.
The high side walls are a b!itch to get tires on and off and it had lot's of flatspots.
There are better rims available (for example : Mavic EX 721 and the EX 729.)
Despite the bad rep, Ive got a Trailpimp laced to a Atomlab hub and have had it for 7 months and was used when I got the bike and I havent even had to true it yet and I'm 200#s
I had a set of trailpimps for 1 yr, too heavy and not that strong, I swicthed to mavic 321/729's and lost 1/2lb per wheel and they are stronger(harder metal).
I have been on Aircorp rims for about a year. They have some flat spots but they did fine for the $$$. I will probably try a different rim next time; Singletracks maybe.
Anyways, my Atomlab experience was mixed. I had some Aircorps and they held up fine. Better than some rims, worse than others. Nothing special, fine for the price. Their pedals were the best I have ever used no question. They gripped like mad, were always sure and stiff and were really really thin. Too bad the bearings crapped out and the internals kind of sucked. I gave up on them. Also, I was not too impressed with their general CS. I had a lot of problems with them giving me stories: "Oh we have those in stock, you'll get it soon", "We lost your order", "It will ship this week" and the like.
