And I think I might be able to get out next weekend for a day. Finally.

-S.S.-
SWEET dude! If you're up this way, give the Sheraton here a shout before the weekend and let's go make turns. What's your boot size? If it's anything close to a 303mm sole length, you can ski those dumpster Volkls of mine (trust me they're wicked sweet). Give you a sample of mid fatties instead of your long skinny straights.

Edit: by then it would officially be 2 full weeks since I last made turns. I got laid up this weekend w/ a vicious but fast bug. Bummed me out missing 2 blue-bird days! Oh well, at least it wasn't knee deep pow. It looks like I might have to play hooky from morning work sometime this coming week hehe :D

Hey! I upgraded. Just took receipt of a pair of 190 Volkl Snow Rangers. Vintage, but fairly fat.......

I still have to adjust the binders to fit my boots (sole-length ~330mm) I think.

Probably be doing something closer to home, but you never know. If da Boat looks to be nipple deep, the guy I'm skiing with will definitely be up for a 1-day turnaround. :thumb:

Hehehe.. Ti++y deep for the average height women (5'5") would be about waist deep for me. Personally, I'll be pretty happy at ball deep. Hell, at the going rate, knee deep is more than acceptable since I've pretty much forgot how to ski the deep anyway. :D

Edit: SS, you should have started this thread w/ CO Winter Porn what w/ all your nice pics. I especially like the one in purple; the thought of it is giving me wood :D

Steamboat
Aspen Highlands
Silverton
San Juan Snowcats (Purgatory)
Steamboat

Notice a trend? :p

Where on Breck was that?

I found a few weeks ago that the cornace/cirque between the top of Peak 7 and Peak 8 is rarely ridden and stays fresh/untouched a lot. First consistant pow I'd hit all season (yes dh girlie make fun of me for my sucky 5-6" ;) )

You're still young, there's time yet. However, I'm not too sure if this planet can take another 4 years of GW Bush and his idea of eco-friendly government.
On another note, and I'm serious on this, once you get thru CU or Ft Fun, go and try and find the deepest snow on the continent for one winter. It'll put life and how you should handle your future into perspective.

Not my fault I've only been mostly front range. My dad doesn't wanna drive further, lol. (yes I have my license but can't drive up alone yet). I'm hoping a spring break trip to Silverton will happen this year but I doubt it.

Thigh deep pow for me has been at...

Breck
Vail

Otherwise I've only been to resorts around here...
Monarch
WP/MJ
Loveland
Keystone
A-Basin
Vail

You're lucky. :)

P.S. Every been here?

Looks like a fairly common tree run on the southern side of a run that is next to the Colorado Lift? I'm not sure, I usually stick to Peak 8-Peak7-T-bar-6Chair, and that's about it. :p

I "mostly" ski Front Range too. Well, I used to, back in the days before I didn't have time to ski......... :p

Problem with Front Range is you have to either get lucky with the snow or be able to bolt up on any given powder day. And the $hit gets tracked out like nobody's business.

Steamboat I can ski pretty much all day in freshies if the snow is deep........

Yup, and typically, no liftlines.

Edit: I've heard of Mr Toads, but no idea where it's at.

Nope. This one is worth the trip some time, because it's a nice, long, narrow tree shot.....

Lucky bastard! Atleast I only have 2 more years of high school and then hopefully I'll be going to British Columbia for college. I'm hoping that I'll consistantly be able to hit ball-chest deep snow regularily in the backcountry and what not. :D

You going to a college in the Interior of BC? Whistler gets lotsa snow, but it's a marine snowpack. In other words, high water content most of the time.........

Once I get thru Mines, I'm hoping to move back to Can. BC (specifically Vancouver) is on the top of a very short list of places I'd consider. It's either there or sun fun where I can play on my bike and in some water year round.

I need to get my cardio back so I can do top/bottom non-stoppers in the trees once the pow does show up. Pow days are ski-angry days. If you have to wait for a friend, then she better be REALLY hot and promises sexual favors.

No kidding. I hate waiting for people when I'm enjoying some nice pow. That's why unless its on a run you have to hike to and we don't want to get lost I usually just meet them at the lift. :p

Nah, nah. That's why we all have cells. We'll try to meet up, but never do 'cause we'll never wait for each other. We just end up leaving messages about how good a particular area is and they should hit it. I guess that's one good reason for cells :D

DOOD, what's wrong w/ you? You live in arguably the powder capital of the world, or at least very close to it, and you are praying for no snow?! Put that bike away and jump on a lunch tray or couple of planks and go have some of the most fun you'll ever have in the deeeeeep fluuuuffy. There's a really big world out there other than your man-made wooden ramps and rails. It's like DHing, but on a different level and totally as fun ;)
