Does anybody else get Coldplay confused with U2 circa Rattle and Hum? I don't get what people think they are so great when they are about 15 years past the curve.
someone on this board (used to be kona josh, can't recall his new name) made me a cdr of them. not too bad. kinda modern-day hill billy bluegrass.
for me, the lineup is pretty hit or miss, but here're my picks:
wilco
buddy guy
steve earle
bob mould (if he's playing hüsker/sugar tunes on this tour)
tortoise
leo kottke
black keys
spoon
mouse on mars (could be deathly dull in a live setting though)
I can vouch for Split Lip Rayfield. The bluegrassy sound gets a bit old after a while, but these guys have a lot of energy on stage and are way fun to see live. If I remember right, the stand-up bass one of the guys plays is made from an old gas tank.
