about 2-3 months ago i ordered an avy with the idea to mount it on my '04 turner DHR when she arrives. at that time criag didn't have the complete measures for a medium, only for a small and i didnt have the frame either to measure it. in a best guess basis craig sent me the shock and i used it on the '03 DHR with the reservoir mounted between the 2 top tubes.
yesterday finally came the '04 DHR and the first thing i did after looking at the frame at least for an hour   i tried to place the avy, only to realize that there was no way to mount it (i already had this bad feeling before after looking closely to espen's DHR and other mediums DHR's). the hose was too short to mount it over the seat mast and the angle of the hose needed to be around 8-9 o'cock instead of 7 o'clock.

so today i emailed craig and he was able to build the shock in 1 hour and sent it overnight to a friend that comes from the US next tuesday :thumb: :thumb:

he also trust me that i will send back the shock with my friend when he gets back to the US.

tha for me is a great customer service, companies like avalanche and turner deserve the best rating :p

I am waiting for a new DHR now, a medium, and I have found a far better solution for the reservoir on this frame. Stay tuned!

...and yes, both Turner and Avalanche rocks!

Espen, what do you have in mind? I have an 04 and I am wanting to go with the Avalanche, but I not to keen on mounting it on the seat tower. Talked to Craig and he says thats the only place to put it. I'm running a Romic now, but I had a FOES DHS with an Avalanche before and I am definately missing the Avy.

Is it a big problem to mount it on the seat tower ? I run an Armageddon and I mount it on the seat tower...seems one of the only places avalaible. If it can be done get the Avy back..... :)

I want the best possible solution for the reservoir.
That means:
- Inside the frame, no hoses ouside of the frame.
- Short hose without any crazy bends or multipe 45 or 90 degree fittings.
- Hose should not be in contact with the frame
- Secure fitting
- Easy access to the adjuster

And the best of all, this IS possible with some minimal modifications.
I am working on this now, and will post pics as soon as my frame is here.

Yes, Craig and Avalanche definetly rock! I would never think of running anything but my DHS and as soon as I can scratch enough $$ together to buy a DHF I'm sure I'll love that as well. Craig is a super knowledgeble guy who doesn't loose you when he's explaining aspects of suspension and tuning and Avalanche's CS is the best in the business, IMO.

All you need to do is to file down the 2 hose guides welded on the down tube and the res will fit nicely inside the frame. I measured it up a couple of weeks ago and it will fit (just, with >5mm to spare). Will be ordering mine as soon as i sell my old avy from my super 8.

Exactly!
I am working on some new "rubber beds" and I am trying to find out how long the hose should be.

I can take some measurements if you want. I'm not sure how the fitting that attaches the hose to the shock body would work but. I was just thinking of getting craig to set it at an angle, say 30 degress, facing backwards so the hose kicks out a little so it misses the brace.

Whats your thoughts Espen?? Have you already talked with craig about it??

I have not talked with him yet. I sent him an e-mail reg hoselenghts, but no reply yet. He have been on holyday, so I will give him some days.

I think it's possible to run the hose directly in the shock. Or maybe a 45 degree @1 or 2 oclock.

I did some measures yesterday on a Mediumframe, and my 6" hose is too long, without any 45 or 90 degree.

I think I have to be patient, and do this the slow and safe way. Get the frame, make room for the reservoir, take the shock apart (with help from my local Mx shop) get the real measures.
