i have a set of avid codes, 2006 i think.

i have pretty large hands but enjoy my levers close to the bar. ive moved the screw fully out of the lever so it's as far in as possible, but id still prefer it to be closer to the bar.

is there any way to adjust it further then you can with the little screw?

not sure about Avids but w/ Shimano and Hayes it is possible to over fill resulting in short lever throw. the fix is to bleed a little fluid out w/o letting air back in.

the lever throw is alright, the pad contact adjustment works great, but i want the lever to sit closer to the bar.

idk in your case. if i set my lever as close to the bar as possible i could literally have it touch the bar! i have a problem getting my to being far enough away from the bar!

What Codes do you have? Are you talking about the lever reach screw? Or are you talking about the pad engagement adjustment?

i am talking about the lever reach screw, the one whats near the lever body what you can unscrew.

the codes are just standard codes, bought in 2006(i think), the greenish colored ones.

edit: the screw is removed right now, and it's not far enough in to be comfortable over a period of time

Ok, I would probably reccomend a different lever then. SOmething like the Dangerboy, or straightline lever witha different shape to it.
