Can I take the return springs out of my avid sd5 levers? I dont really like how it springs back so quick. I have the same brakes, same cables, etc on my other bikes just with Avid Ultimate levers and I like the feel of them so much better. The ultimates dont have a return spring. Anyone?

You can take as much "spring" out of the actual brake arms or disc arm as you want. If you have V-brakes, take an equal amount of pre-load of off the torsion bars on each brake arm (little screw or allen on side by mount) If you have Avid BB discs, there is a small allen by where the arms pivot, back it out a turn or two. Both of these features are designed to do just what you are looking for. See if this helps...otherwise you may be able to remove the spring from the lever, just take a look at it and see.
