Anyone try this setup before? Just bought one and took it apart last night, cleaned it out. I'm gonna try playing with the shim stack set up tonight. These things are impressive inside thats for sure. Ridiculously easy to take apart, work on, and bleed.

Since the VPF has a retarded leverage curve I was thinking of starting with a real light damping setup, then ramping it up from there. In order to keep it somewhat soft and responsive on the small hits. Thoughts? Tips? Experience?

Well I have a DHS on my Nomad. Its probably a 2002, totally old skool with detached res. I had Craig at Avalanche tune it for the VPP. I think it's awesome! I couldn't tell you about how to work on it though, so I suck. But you won't be disappointed! Did you get the individual hi/low compression adjustment too? That's a nice feature for pedaling and dialing in your big hits.
