Hey, my avy 9.0x 3.0 is topping out. i asked craig why it is doing this and he said my spring is prob just to tightly turned, so i backed it way out and it still tops out, not horribly but just enough to notice a "thunk" on the end of the rebound. Does anyone have an idea why it does this?

I would call craig back and tell him that you followed his suggestion and it still tops out...see what he says....D
i think they always are that way, an ever so slight clunk in there but nothing else.

Yep, thats normal to have a slight clunk at the end of the stroke, adjusting the preload and rebound should lesson it somewhat.
some people would suggest a nitro recharge. I have been told to do that with mine. Never done it before. but if nitro does leak over time then that makes sense. each time i have had it fresh back from a rebuild, it didn't do that. then over time is comes back.
It should take a nitro recharge about every 6 month.
Topping out is normal for an AVY. You will not feel it on the trail but it is definately normal. I called Craig about it when I first got mine last year. You can adjust the preload to lessen the topping out but it will always be there.

alright thanks guys. i was kinda questioning myself if it was normal or not, i just havent gotten a chance to ride my dh bike since july, so i was just compressing it yesterday and it was topping out so it got me worried.

for example, my local Mx place charged me about $6 for a recharge. so it doesn't exactly hurt the wallet too badly!
