Now I have the bug up my butt to go to Angel Fire one last time before the season closes down.

I could make it happen on either:
Saturday - Sunday, October 1-2
Saturday - Sunday, October 8-9

Leave Phoenix Friday around 10am, get to Angel Fire around 8:00. Either camp or crash in a hotel, then ride Saturday/Sunday, drive back that night, get home about 2am on Monday.

Its 570 miles to AF from Phoenix proper. So that's 1,040 round trip. My truck gets about 16 to the gallon. So let's call it 70 gallons of gas at $3.40 a gallon, which comes out to $240 in gas.

To sleep up there would be $150 a night if we did a hotel room. So gas and hotel you're looking at $540.

So if two other riders wanted to go, that's $180 per person before food and tickets for the weekend. That's really not that bad.

The best part was the new brothel called the Bikini Lounge. Same name as my favorite dive bar in PHX. Couldn't get the lady to go in with me at 10:45 in the morning on a Wednesday...

Would be a teeny bit closer and probably a hella lot moar fun to hit Pajarito. A lot of work has been done to get it back operational following the huge fire there this summer.

If this happens, lemme know. I wouldn't mind hooking up for a few runs. Haven't been to AF this year and can't seem to get any of my local crew interested since Pajarito is just 10 minutes away. And no, I can't give a report on Pajarito conditions since the fire, but I'm patrolling the weekend of 9/11 and will have a good idea afterward.
