Despite not having the ok from the ortho to start riding again we joined a beginner group today at Lake Hodges to ease Orven back onto his bike and get a decent workout, as well as hanging with a bunch of very cool and enthusiastic people.
Maybe someone forgot to tell lovebunny this was an XC ride. Trying to hip it.
"Oh dang, I was not ready." -lovebunny
Flip Shore Stunts of SoCal.
TJ going 2MPH above the posted speed limit.
Yup, there are trees in SoCal.
TJ leading the turn around after leading us deep into the lost world
Strolling along the creek.
A very warm day at Lake Hodges.
Woops...
Loving the rocks.
Right "back" at ya.
Lovebunny paving the rock strewn trail red with 17" of travel -in XC trail standards.
TJ easily passed Orven (who's not supposed to be riding)
Orven got owned by TJ today.
Consolation price goes to me, right behind the boys.
"Oh dang, I was not ready" Part II -lovebunny
TJ tried to run the doggie over too, figuring his suspension would soak it up
"I bet Wes sucks so bad in XC riding."- para-phrasing lovebunny
He said he was going to do a one foot power slide -Sam Hill-esque.
Ahahaha. TJ's face right on the sun spot!
Just me
Lovebunny, about 4 min 43 secs ahead of the peleton.
Shaded areas were welcome sites today. It was HAWT!
It's dirt jumping trick. Can't remember the term.
I found this interesting.
At the beginning of our ride, we had to cross the "bridge" because no one wanted to cross the shallow creek.
On this spot on our way out, no one hesitated to hit the creek...
...like TJ at full speed even.
Yup, TJ, gonna do it again.
Good splash.. 6 out of 10.
10, 5 stars, two thumbs up.
Some of the guys in our group.
Lovebunny's 5th crossing (not counting the opposite crossings).
A random kid Lovebunny harrassed long enough and was forced to cross the creek too. Love the facial expression.
Fun ride. Mellow and relaxing, except when TJ got us lost.
Had a really good persian fast food nearby. Definitely a new fave spot for post ride food next time around. The ride was worth the freaking hot temperature... Good times.
