Anyone use this online backup service? It appears to get very high ratings.

No personal experience but it looks like a pretty nice service. $50/year is very reasonable for a redundant, encrypted online backup.
Since I needed a domain anyway, I simply purchased a lot of web space and back things up via FTP for about the same price - and get the added benefit of having a hosting server.

never thought of that, he's got a domain with a huge amount of unused space. How could we set that up automatically on our end? The automatic part of Carbonite is very appealing.

SyncBack SE seems to be pretty good at syncing data. You can schedule tasks.
