Just doing some work with our banner rotation software, and I come across this beautiful piece of interface:

"Don't show the banner again on the same page" [x] Yes [] No

Crystal clear isn't it?

It's the old gap between the programmers and the users. I'm sure that makes perfect sense to someone, somewhere.

Whenever I implemented new database modules in my last job, we did extensive user acceptance tests before even moving it out of the beta environment. And let me tell you, that eliminated 95% of the complaining from the users after we installed the new module. Any time IT ever installed anything (without the UAT), the IT vice president's phone would ring off the hook for weeks

It seems to me that too many software development companies skip that step, have their own programmers look at it, and call it good.
