I'm going up to Banff in June for a work thing, and I'll have a day off while other people golf, sight-see... What I'd like to do is go for a nice ride.

Has anyone ever been up there?
Are there rentals, or should I bring a bike?
Trail suggestions? Can you take bikes on the gondola?

I was up there in the winter and it was so nice. I am guessing the trails would be bad ass. Call soms shops about rentals and rent if you can. Seems like a hassle to haul a bike for one day off.

Lake Minnewanka is an out-and-back that I've heard really great things about. I haven't really ridden in the park that much as it's pretty limited and there's much better riding elsewhere.

There seems to be a few locals on MTBR in the Western Canada forum...they might be able to help out some more.
