this is what happens when there are only 2 mods
There are at least 6 regular contributors who have mod powers in various capacities.
The problem was that these guys somehow didn't get caught in a single one of the layers of spam filters (there are like 5-6 filters that get called to check posts for spam, which is why we don't get any spam anymore), so it got out of control before anyone could act and then took a while to get cleanup done.
