Anyone have problems running the BMX-type bar caps? The kinds with set screws instead of a big expanding plug.

Do they fall off?

thx

hope makes some bmx style ones, but the expander part is rubber not metal.

I wouldn't run metal expanders inside an alu bar, but it's only messing up the end of the bar so it shouldn't be a big deal.

I use the ODI lock-on bar end caps they have a screw tensioner that makes a plastic cone expand inside the bars. Pretty neat idea. I've had good luck with them so far

I dont. If you have a lock on grip, why would you want to use more than one tool to take them off?

I use to run metal plugs, but then I bought a new pair of handle bars, and they were too thick to run plugs. so now I run poverty night caps. They work fine, but I really do miss having plugs. The plugs just seem to work better. (although, I've had no major complaints about the night caps)

The new Dangerboy caps "lock-on" to the ODIs. The have the a solid end cap and the inner splines to connect to the grip. This allows the use of just an inner ODI clamp and the outer DB ends. It appears to be pretty slick. I have a pair on order and I'll let you guys know what I think once I get them.

I use el plastique plugs from ODI. I use the flanged one on my left, and the smaller, flush one on the right(shifting side) It gives better hand position to hit the triggers without you hand hitting the plug flange.
