I ride the DRS on both of my bikes. It lives up to the hype, I've got a Blackspire as well and the e-13 for some reason (maybe it's simplicity) works better and quieter.
I hooked mine up recently, dropped some big nasty's complete with doll head landings. I HAVE NOT LOST MY CHAIN YET!
Hands down they work. There are other great guides out there no question, But don't confuse yourself looking for the bling bling or envy of one. Don't confuse the situation of something simple. E-13 does work, I don't worship them. I analyze all aspects question every one and make an educated decision on things. I did the same not long ago looking for mine, I searched mtbr, nsmb, pink bike and various user groups online and hands down it kept going to the E-13, So I bought 1 used it and immediatly purchased another one for my other bike. It will be a shame if this product ever gets discontinued.

the DRS is great, no question about it, and their customer service is Bar None. There are other guides out there, the LRP, which I think is a bit cheaper, and the Blackspire Dullie (sp?) They both work well also, but if you are looking for somthing with a bash guard, stay away from MRP. They come with an "outer plate", which is NOT a bashguard! It is simply a chain retention device.

sweet i have been doing the same research for dual chain ring bashes and guides. I kept coming to the e13 DRS for the best one out there. I think tomorro wi'm gonna buy the e.13drs. Now i just gotta figure out the whole e type bracket thing
Just email the guys at E.13 (I think it's support@e13components.com - but you can check their website). They'll help you out with what parts you need to order for your E-type setup... Very knowledgable guys!

NORCAL is the hizzle
Is there an echo in here?

The DRS is a great product. I've had mine for more than a year and have not had one lost chain. Like all the best parts, once it's set up right it just quietly does it's job. Probably the best thing I can say is that I don't even think about mine anymore.

Plus that DW guy is ok too.

Edit: As for chainring sizes, lots of people buy a triple (usually 22-32-42 these days) and just lose the 42 in favor of the bashguard. Personally the 22 is fine but I like something bigger than a 32 for my biggest ring. I've been running a 22/38 this year with an 11-32 (or maybe 34, can't remember) in back. With mid-cage XTR rear der it all works great and I've got substantially more top end than I would with a 32.

What Frame are you getting? There may be some special set up tips you'll need.

Truvativ just released a new dual ring guide, and it looks like it'll be worthwhile to check out. Personally, I'd run a 28-38, but do whatever you want.
