My son has an Ibanez SDGR 4-string bass, made in Japan, and the circuit board went out. Can the pickups be wired to bypass the circuit board? Should we just replace the stock set up with an EMG PJ? We've been waiting almost a month for the stock board.

The EMG will surely be an upgrade. Should be tit to install too and will work much better.

I think the most help you could be to him would be to encourage him to learn a different instrument. Nobody like the bass player.

Bought the EMG PJ combo. Junior splits his time between guitar/bass. After four years in marching band playing baritone the lower register comes easier.
