Well I've had her done for a few weeks now, got a couple days of lift assisted riding on her and a few days of pedally riding on her.

I'm impressed, I've owned quite a few different rigs over the past few years and I have to say I'll be on this one for a good while.

I'm stoaked!!!!!

Nice ride, I love mine too. Post the details of your front der set-up, someone on this board is having a hard time getting his working.

how are u liking the eight tracks sio far?
They are lighter than I expected, tires mount very nicely on them, no problems or difficulties.. which is a huge plus...

they have taken some really good rock shots just from general riding with lower pressure, I've heard rocks hit the rear wheel hard and front wheel pretty hard, both rims are still true and no denting... my atomlabs would've had a few dents by now.....

34.9 TP/TS standard seattube mount....

I will try and use the e type adapter when I get the longer spindle from race face. If I don't go to a singlering w/ SRS first.....

I'm running a SRS, 36t ring and 11-34 cassette and its perfect for everything from pedally rides, climbing and whistler. I personally thought I'd want a double but doubt I'll switch from the SRS.

That is me you are referring to. Castle and I have already talked via e-mail and swapped ideas.

Running a two ring setup and bashguard like Castle has is no problem. Same with those running an SRS or similar as there is no Front derailer needed.
The issues arise when trying to get a DRS involved and shifting smoothly.
I had this mostly fixed with a 118mm BB. With this combo, all was good but the roller was not functioning in all gears and my chainline was maybe slightly off. No big deal at least my chain will not bounce off.

After my posting everybody stated that the 128mm was the best deal for shifting and chainline and such. I went back and tried that again. This was not working well when first setting it up because a top pull derailer did not want to swing out that far very well and there was a large gap between the granny and DRS backplate which that chain kept getting into. I decided to try it all again anyway.

The latest was another series of attempts including the etype DRS backplate from e-13. The included seatpost etype adaptor and etype derailer work great with a 128mm setup and this is the optimum setup according to Santa Cruz. Throw a DRS into the mix and not so smooth.

I believe the solution to be a custom backplate (that I am working on) that will accept the etype derailer like the etype e-13 backplate and utilize the seatpost clamp adaptor from Santa Cruz. You can maybe see by the pics what I mean.

Right now, after trying all of the possible combos I am running it with a 128mm bb, a regular top pull derailer and a DRS, but the DRS is still not rotated to be working at its best. This is working, but I am trying to get all the gears working better because a regular top pull derailer does not like to really swing out that far, but it can be done.

Here is a pic of the adaptor that pushes the etype derailer out further and prevents it from roatating. This is normally done via a boss on the fram on other bikes that require etyp derailers.

Here it is again, but it is mounted to the e-13 etpe DRS backplate and capturing the seatpost clamp adaptor. You can see that the DRS guide is hitting the frame at the chainstay. This also has a 2.5mm spacer as well as the backplate and it is still not out far enough.

Here is a straight on shot with what I believe would be the best solution. The etype derailer is mounted to the DRS backplate and is also capturing the seapost calmp adaptor from Santa Cruz. This would prevent the derailer from rotating if the DRS backplate were to rotate.
If one were to look at this and design a new backplate, the backplate could have a small joggle in it just behind the BB which would clear this pivot and the roller could also be moved up more kind of in-line with the pivot location.

A final shot of the interference that could be eliminated by my suggestion in the post above. Again this also has a 2.5 mm spacer at the bb in addition to the backplate. The plates that attach to this are another issue and will need to be cut. Even if you clear this chainstay with the backplate, the plates that attach to it protrude beyond the end and hit the other part of the chainstay sticking out.

I could get the rotation on mine, I needed and that was using 2.5mm b.b. spacer behind the back plate........ ( I did grind the roller guard spacer plates away to tuck in there)

However my cranks would bind...... all I need is a longer spindle and I'lll be in business.....

I see whatcha mean about the E type set up though........ hmmmm scratches head?

I'm really considering a single ring, just to get rid of my front der. now..... maybe raceface, shimano, santa cruz and e 13 will work this out......
