I was washing all my biking stuff from a mud fest, and thought, what harm can a washer do to a camelbak? I put it in with my pads, pressure suit, gloves, etc, and it didn't fair to well. One of the straps that goes over your shoulder got all cut up. I think it was from the agitator.

Now I know for next time, do what I do with my pressure suit, put it in a pillowcase.

I wash mine in the washer all the time with no problems.

Might be your washer machine is hosed up.
