The Marz comp sleeve reduces diving and gives you an overall tighter feeling.
It's 3 way adustable too. I think a tuned 888 gives you alof for the money.

I guess the Curnutt is better, it should be at double price.
It's a litle stange and unfair to compare a 2300$ superfork with a mass produced 1200$ fork.

Oh, yeah, 'cause:

...is the same thing as "dive". Do you know what "sag" is, and why your statement is a perfect description of it?

 You could try re-reading your posts/sentences to see where you mis-spoke, rather than calling everyone "dumbasses" - I guess that might actually take some effort, though...

No,dumbasses. The 888's dive.period.The Boxxer wasn't bad about it.And the Dorado was a bit better even. The XTD dosent do it,and there are reasons for it.But since you geniuses can get a fork perfect by getting stiffer springs, you can't be told anything. And I'm sure you'all have done plenty of runs on the XTD so you know it has specific adjustments for anti dive/anti bottoming. And tell me the 888 was the perfect race/ride height too.~~~stiffer springs....duuhher.

Scary Larry?

That must make the 888 under 4 pounds hahah

note "0,4 lbs more"

as opposed to "4,0 lbs more"

sometimes the order does make a difference.

anyways, youre about right on the 2.0 weight, ive weighed lots of them at between 3595 and 3650 (after the extra spring thing) uncut.

Umm, you do know that some countries use the comma as a period -- i.e. 0,4 pounds is how we say 0.4 pounds, right??? The 888 is a half pound lighter than the WB, just like he said.....

Half pound lighter without steer though, while the WB is weighed with a steerer.

Whats the new 8" WB fork?
The one shown at Interbike.
from page 1 ---
Not a new damper but more oil volume because of the increased overlap. External compression, rebound and nitrogen pressure to tune sag.

Spring leg is a dual spring with a air seal that can be arranged 3 different ways to get 3 progression rate. Comes stock with the most progressive setting. The three spring adjustments are air chamber size for progression, two springs to tune top of travel and main-bottom of travel rates and a air assist to boost bottom out pressure and give it a more progressive ramping. I run mine with ambiant air, zero pressure, so the top stays supple and the air commpression ramps deeper in the travel.

New upper and lower crowns that are 30% stiffer and stronger than previous years with a larger clamping area to resist twisting. I twisted my stem on a crash but have yet to twist the clamps.

Hahahahaha... Sure, sure. That's what it was. It's cause you don't like the 888. Whatever makes you feel better, man. It has nothing to do with the fact that you insulted everyone after you misspoke and didn't bother to go back and read what you wrote...

Sorry, Ui.. When I see idiots, I feel compelled to call them out - it's a compulsion. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Let us keep up the good tone in here ! And let us see some pics if someone have some of the Foes fork ! Would like to see it on a bike.

Also, - if people want to discuss I think it is great....if people just have a need for posting a lot of sh#t, then go somewhere else.......that is one of the reasons why I like RM, - not too many dummies.

This combined with "please like me" is...well, it's just sad.

Scary, you're trying a little to hard to make sure we know you don't care if we like you or not.

Ok, you win, we don't like you. And you don't care. Yay!

Lance, not trying to make ya look dumb, but this is a picture of the new WB DH Air Fork in prototype form Fork Picture They will be available 1st of Jan to the public, the delay is due to the new dropout design (think monster-t style) is being machined still so that the fork can have more stanction overlap increasing stiffness. Look for pricing to be under the $1300 mark. The new DH 2.0 is $1375 and has the re-worked insides, as well as a slick new ano job seen here hangin on an f1

The 888 stem is heavy, close to 300g. With G-R crowns the 888 is around 3300g

yea i have the same figure with the risse crowns but im pretty certain the stem was around 225

lets do the math

3650(stock)-50(steerer)-80(crowns)-200(stem)=3320g

Ha!...kinda obvious reference.......but at least you make an effort.BV and OG are too butt hurt to take themselves less seriously.

That's pretty rich. You are obviously...confused. Maybe your homophobia is clouding your judgment. (Quite a few butt references there, don't you think? More than I've seen in a while. Blisters and ointment...sounds like you know a lot about it.)

Hey look at that, random cheap shots are easy. And not funny at the same time. It's the all-in-one useless post! Thanks for your contributions!!
Yippeee, you're a comedian!!! Har, har!!

SCARY

Not long enough
The random cheap shot certainly more entertaining than a couple of guys whining that I don't think there fork is the greatest thing since butt ointment. And I think you're getting "homophobia" mixed up with me poking at some assholes..................See, THATS comedy!.Lighten up a little,.....or don't ,....whatever

no one said it was the greatest fork ever, but when someone complains that it sags through half the travel when you sit on it, we know that person doesn't have the fork set up right, and it's not going to work right.

we can then extrapolate that the review or information from that person is meaningless.

thank you for your attention.

And you need to work on your english comprehension skills... as someone above pointed out, sag is not the same as dive. What you missed is that nobody criticised your OPINION of the 888 (most people here are indifferent to everything, except Jm_ who will go to great lengths to stop RS ever selling another boxxer :p), they simply pointed out that your descriptions were consistent with an improperly setup fork. Had you said in the first place that it dives a lot, nobody would have said anything. Instead, it seems like you've decided everyone's out to get you and hates you because you dislike 888s - despite the fact that NOBODY has said anything like that. Just take it easy, it's really not that big a deal.

P.S. pretenses of comedy probably aren't helping anyone either.

I don't think you'll find a lighter bunch of people on the 'net. And you're flattering yourself to think that you're actually getting people worked up over this.

However, you came across as an asshole, then after you were called out for it, you started joking and claiming that, because we still think you're an asshole, we have no sense of humor and are all out to get you. Not to mention the fact that you've been the only one all along who has even mentioned your opinion of 888s - everyone else was talking about your poorly worded description of what you apparently intended to come across as "fork dive".

Much as I enjoyed the pun about poking at assholes, you would have done better to accept that it was your own error that caused the subsequent posts, and move on...

This is the most ridiculous thread I have seen on this website, well next to "crippled with Respect".

Scary obviously is an evil genius feeding off the numerous attempts to set him/her straight, one up his last remark, or correct his grammar.

Why not ignore the rabblings of a mad man and continue with the matter at hand of helping UIUIUIUI select the proper a fork.

This thread is very accurate though since that poor horse has been beaten to death.

Hey Ben,
You may want to check out the "WTF is UP SC" thread as well.
Those goobers have been arguing over the definition of a bolt-on hub for 4 pages now.
Just want you to read all the ridiculous threads, so you can make an educated decision oh which one is the most ridiculous. ;)

How's life in yer neck of the woods? Go and get a copy of Camp-Lo's newer CD called "Lets do it again" or something like that, it's off da chizzain. :)

Man, I have been around here long enough to know that the best is yet to come. I am certain that when winter creeps in across the country the real issues will surface.

Example:

Which is faster lock-on grips or regular grips?

Should I keep wearing my male thong with my riding shorts?

Which frame is the fastest when thrown from a car?

What is the biggest drop to flat I can take on a 1992 KHS Montana Comp?

Man, I am good, been doing some trailriding.
Dude, I am still collecting the classics. Buying one at a time.
After getting Illmatic and Full Clip by Gang Starr, I figured out
I pretty much dig anything DJ Premier touches. He did some of the
beats on that Afu CD you gave me as well, that is still in rotation. :thumb:

As far as winter goes, that is when these boards "hit the mattress."
A bunch of pizzed off DHers fighting over stuff like whether a motorcycle can beat a DH bike down the hill. Only if these guys could come ride Windrock Trail 2 one day, they would have the answer.
Then the fight would be, what is the last thing you hear after you pass a motorcycle, the bike or its owner's screams of frustration? ;)
Yep, its gonna be a rough winter.
