Heat deficiency for the next few days.
I'll go ride my bike until my extremities call it quit.

-19°C here, -27 with wind. Will bike to work anyways. Had a good weekend at a buddy's cabin in the woods. Sauna and ice plunge helped my back recover. I think

Also cold as heck here. Car sounded like a tractor on startup.

1 hawk spotted on the way to work.

At work, getting coffee. Perhaps I will do some work, at work.

Hi pols

Unclear if middle child is still asleep (younger definitely up and at it downstairs) or whether she woke up and abandoned me for morning snuggles

dentist in an hour. Then WFH reading ultrasounds for me

update: she had woken up a bit earlier than the ok to wake green light and gone downstairs. but then she came back up for the requisite morning-snuggles so all is well

Its that kind of day...

1) turn on laptop and it decides to finish installing updates and rando bios update
2) it reboots, but doesn't turn on. power cycling it and i just get the dell logo and nothing further (meanwhile i have a meeting that i need to join)
3) wait and power cycle it 3 more times, finally windohs starts
4) outlook now won't stay open and keeps crashing after a minute
5) software tool is saying its unavailable, so unable to start office/outlook repair process
6) forced to use web version of outlook FFS

Oh and forgot my earbuds at home, so will be forced to listen to music through these shitty ass headphones.

Met with the buyers of the house today. They got the big tour and appreciated all the details. Not surprisingly the agent had told them nothing. Fucking real estate agents.

"Microsoft Teams .app is damaged abd can't be openend. You should move it to the Bin."
Not ideal! :disgust:

Luckily, all our admin stuff and all our phones are run through/as Teams, so nobody can contact me in the chat or call me. I guess I will get some work done then. Or I could post on the monkey. :lighten:

Sounds like a 'go home and ride bike' kinda day.

UTV rack for the truck bed is nearing completion, 7 hours of weld out yesterday. I will typically only tack things in case there is a major design change along the way since I only work out of my head and have zero drawings or plans. I'm pretty happy with it thus far, There is a wee bit more bracing and strengthening to do today but may have it wrapped up and ready for painting this afternoon.

In other news,

found a new edible that is 4x the knock out power than the ones I have been using for sleep, might try one tonight.

Stupid bullshit, signing out and back into Office seems to have fixed it.

The words of this post do ring true unto me, for we too stand at the beginning of the end of the great labor upon our house.

And it came to pass, that a hidden treasure was made manifest unto us. For amidst the dust and remnants of days long past, there did lie a small and humble token—a figure of Dumbo, the famed elephant. Though worn and weathered by the passage of time, it did speak as a relic of former joys, a whisper of the life that once dwelt within these walls, and a promise of the gladness yet to come. Lo, it seemed as though even the house itself would not let us labor without hope.

And now, on the morrow, we set forth on a journey of respite, a fortnight of rest to restore our strength. When we return, it shall be to the work of reclaiming our home, to move once more into that which we have labored to restore, and to fill its halls with the life and laughter it was made to hold.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Afternoon. Not much new white stuff here but the cold is settling in. Dental cleaning this morning and then proctoring a Boys Varsity Basketball game before gymnastics driving tonight & grocery shopping. Fun times!
