I hope Ironhorse fixes their rear linkage problem this year, then they would be nice bikes. I have seen a few of them get real sloppy real fast. I know they are seen as cookie cutter bikes but i still like Bighits, and the demo 9 is real nice but heavy. Suposedly there is a demo 8 coming in 05 and the 9 is suposed to be lighter also. I mentioned the scream cause if you can't break it it must be built pretty well, and it's inexpensive but there is the weight penalty. I like the orange 223 but they are up there with the foes fly price wise. Does anyone know how tall the stand over is on the v-10? I like them alot also and they seem priced lower then most other high end bikes.

PS, I hope, for the love of Christ, that you have the sense to accept that the US and UK are very different countries. Culture wise somewhat, but geography wise extremely so.

We don't need tiny hatchbacks as much as we need cars that can cover 500miles comfortably in a day.

So everything is crap but british and German....well, your beloved BMW is responsible for the X3 and x5, two of the worst SUV offenders ever created. Heavy? Check out Audi, who beats even US builders with their "high performance" sedans, most of which weigh close to two tons. Good luck driving one of those at the limit. Lastly, Mercedes now has a partnership with Chrysler.

One should be more carefull about the status of British Industry. Yes, all the brands you mentioned for cars are indeed of British origin, and one should be proud of it. But, all of the brands you mentioned are no longer British, they are owned by GM, BMW, Mercedes, etc....

Once upon a time, UK produced the Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito, TR1, and other glorious examples of fine aerospace engineering. Now all this is gone and you rely on imports and foreign scientists. Trust me, i am into the research business so i know a trick or two. You have a lot to be proud about as a British, its a great country etc etc. But there is no comparison between the good old days of the Brit industry to todays status quo.

From where i come from, 3000yrs ago, the finest battle ships, bronze shields, helmets armor, hoplites etc were built. Modern metallurgists cannot fully comprehend how on earth did those guys manipulated metals into such shapes and gauges (bronze armor plating , 0.5mm thick, single bronze sheet, no creases at all even in extreme curvatures, heat treated! 7cent BC). Having said that, we just import weapons today, and our industry is a JOKE.

Back to bikes now, UK prices suck for US bikes, with the exception of big brands like Specialized, Trek, Cannondale. we pay 90% more on any given US made product (bike related). This happens 99% for the premium that European distributors decide that we have to pay in order to get the X US made product. A 90% cap cannot be justified by any tax, import, cargo cost. PERIOD. And as a friendly reminder.... Orange is a bit cheaper in the US in comparison to the UK.
