I love my Michelin Comp 24 2.5's when it's dry out, but since New England sucks it is never dry so the 24's turn into muddy semi-slicks.

So far I'm looking at Comp 16's in 2.5" and the IRC Tomashi's as alternatives. I don't like Maxxis so are there any other suggestions?

If NE is similar to what we have here, go for a Comp16 for sure. either the 2.2 or the 2.5. I find that a fresh 2.5 is awesome but it has a tendency to wear not as well as a 2.2.

Many people also really like the Comp32 when it's not muddy, but I've never tried it.

Michie 2.5" Comp 16 up front and Comp 16 2.2" in back. Awesome combo. You have not seen me slip too much this year on this combo.

On a side note. The crew is off to Jiminy this sunday you in?

Yup, comp 16 2.2 and 2.5. For really muddy sections on otherise dry, trim the middle of the knobs for good traction.

Sounds like the 2.2 and 2.5 is the way to go then. Now to find them somewhere for cheap.

Erik
I'll definately be down with heading to Jiminy. I may bring up a pretty big crew of WPI peeps with me as well. My cell phone is broken so if I don't have it fixed soon I'll just e-mail or pm you to find out the details.

Universal cycles has a good selection of Michies. Jenson charges extra $ for shipping tires/wheels.

looking forward to hitting up the new trail we missed last time. My bro and fast Tom are coming.

I'd go with the super glued Mobsters :) Just kidding.

I'll be away all weekend, plus I've got a blown Boxxer, so no Jiminy for me. Call Dave though, I'm sure he's down.

what about the michie mud3 tires? the irish guys seemed to use those a lot
I think everybody should have a pair of Mud3 for wet conditions. I actually think I have more control in the mud with the Mud3 than I have with Comp16s in dry conditions. They are seriously amazing. :thumb:
They are only good for mud though...in rocky sections or hardpack sections, they can get sketchy quite rapidly.
