What do you think were the best points?

2 that stand out to me are.

Bush: Hard to gain allies when you say that its the wrong war, wrong time, wrong place.

AND

Kerry: Referring to a quote from a foreign leader... "I dont need to see the pictures, the word of the president of the USA is good enough for me" Kerry said "how many people would react to the presidents word today"

------------------

I think bush's comment possibly says more than it does... do you think its possible that the reason he wont back off his "we were right" stance is because hes afraid of (1) Losing morale or (2) His enemies seeing him as weak because he made an error.

NOTE: I'm not saying its a bad stance to have considering the circumstances... but it still doesnt make his original decision right.

I am pretty certain of two main points after this debate.

1. John Kerry has a small penis
and
2. He must have married his wife for the money, cause that bitch is UGLY!

Yet another case of Kerry sucking up to the French.

Of course De Gaul was the president of France only because of the US and British blood that had been spent there to get him installed.

Although I didn't get to see too much of it b/c of technical issue (cable guy is at my place as we speak...), I did like Kerry using references from Bush Sr. 's book.

I think the comments about flip flopping are what I like best from Bush, becasue tht is all he really ever said about Kerry... over and over and over

Nate remove your head from your butt and think about the statement...Would a foreign leader trust Bush's word right now without hesitating or even wanting to see the evidence for himself?... NO

Heard two analysts talking about the debate on the radio during lunch. They went into detail about what the cadidates points were etc etc. At the end of their bit they explained that historically the debates have little affect on voter opinion but the 1 or 2 soundbites that come out of them have the biggest effect. So in the end again the issues won't matter but a candidate stuttering or making a brash baseless comment will.

The system has been corrupted by our laziness and short attention spans. I would like to think that this is something new but since historically the tallest or most attractive candidate has typically won I think it has been happening for ages. I give up.

Kerry saying "i've talked to families in Iowa and Wisconsin that have to save all their money to buy body armor"

Bush's response "Mr. Kerry voted against the bill to extend funding"

Let's not forget the demilitarization of the US started with Clinton.

Looks have been mentioned to be important in the debates since the introduction of televised debates. I don't recall the first one (maybe JFK-Nixon?), but it was said that radio listeners said one candidate won(Nixon?) and the TV viewers the other(JFK?)...

Bush's response "Mr. Kerry voted against the bill to extend funding"
No he voted against the administration's version but was for troop funding:

washingtonpost.com
As part of his case that Kerry has sent mixed messages, Bush asserted that "he voted against the $87 billion supplemental to provide equipment for our troops, and then said he actually did vote for it before he voted against it."

While Bush meant it as a jab, this was an accurate description of the Senate process. Kerry supported a different version of the bill, which was opposed by the administration. At the time, many Republicans were uncomfortable with the administration's plans and the White House had to threaten a veto against the congressional version to bring reluctant lawmakers in line. In a floor statement explaining his vote, Kerry said he favored the $67 billion for the troops on the ground, but he faulted the administration's $20 billion request for reconstruction.
Also you'd have to be a fool to take at face value what either of the candidate said last night. Its sad that people would make up their minds based on such limited information presented in the debates - or even sound bites like everyone has been saying...

Actually, if you think about it Bush is wrong.

If the war is the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time it remains so whether you acknowledge it or not.

Acknowledge it and there is more chance that people will help you get out of the ****.

After all, your allies are not your allies for the sake of altruism.

Bush really is stupid if he thought that remark was clever. And so is anyone else if they think the same.

Think about why your allies are your allies (or not as the case may be).

So let's see, in your mind, important qualities in a candidate are:

1) A big cock

2) A hot wife

Then I'm sure Bush isn't your first choice either. Do you plan to invite the winning candidate to your house for a swinger's party?

Two things that bush said caught my attention

When bush said that he would like to implement his "doctrine" in the middleeast.(or something like that)

The international court should not convict americans.

WORD!!!!! why people think allies are allies because they are "friends and love us"?? that is beyond my understanding.

and that "we wont go to intl courts" ULTIMATE BS!!!!!!! that is saying, well, we are giving carte blanche and impunity to our citizens. WTF????????

after hearing bush, whoa! that is a lot of self-righteousness in a man!.
he wants to be judge, but no part. he thinks he owns the ultimate word or soemthing and wants not to commit nor acknowledge any higher ruling, or that his rights have no limit.

i think i will do the same tomorrow, i will not acknowledge laws on others right, and will loot my neighbors house, and say "i wont go to national courts".
why when an individual does it is wrong? and whan a guy says it, he get elected president????
