I'm looking for some new rims, some that are reasonably strong and light. I do some hucking, trails and maybe some down hill. I'm only 130lbs, so I dont beat my equiptment hard.

I was considering the Sun Singletracks, but also considered the Atom DHRs. How are the new DT rims and Velocity? Any suggestions in the Alex line? Hopefully around 600grams or less.

Thanks
Byron

Mavic 721 (Old D521). Singletracks are cheaper but not nearly as durable in my experience. The 721's weigh only 590g and will be tougher than anything else in that weight range.

321's are actually lighter than you might think.
Also, lighter wheels can be quite strong when maintained every moth or so. Just keep 'em true and evenly dished and tensioned.
I've jumped quite a bit on some ds1 xc rims, and they only have a few flat spots, I'm planning to change that soon though!

I'd stay away from the singletracks. If you must go Sun go their MTX rims atleast. They are just a beefier rim.

Mavic I'd definately go the EX721 (D521) route or Get their EX823 Tubeless wheels from go-ride.com since they are on a giant sale for 32h (like $45 each I think)? It's a great deal for a strong trail worthy tube/tubeless combo. It's like the made for tubeless version of the EX721 :)

Atom labs........Trailpimp or Aircorp for your weight and riding style. The DHR is gonna be a heavy rim to try and push anywhere.

Arrow FRX. They are their "freeride" rims. Good Profile for tires under 2.5, very strong. Plus their price is around what the other rims are. Not too shabby.

Overall if I had to do it over again right now, this second I'd hit the tubeless EX823's up because they are a good trail rim. I have the EX721's and they rock as well. They just cost like $20 more per rim than the 823's and you have to run Stans to make them tubeless.

721s would be a good way to go, they're light and beefy strong. The Atom lab rims a decent...heavier though..they the aircorps and the DHR are about the same at around 700g, which is heavier than a 729...if you want light stay away from trailpimps...there are like 900g.........

At your weight, the Singletracks might be fine. Or you could try a MTX rear, Singletrack front.

i'd go with the 823's at least u have the option of tubeless...more of a pain to build tho, u need 16mm spoke nipples and lots of locktite

if ur hard on ur bike, get 729s bombproof

I'd get the Mavic 721 if I had the cash (and go-ride sells 'em with spokes, so it's not that much more than a Sun) or Sun Ryno Lite Xls. or maybe the singletracks, if I didn't.

People seem to have good luck with the relatively cheap Azonic Outlaws...worth a look at $230 for the wheelset

Yeah they are great wheels. I used them all last year racing DH on my HT. They rock. I am a long 521 (721) fan as well.
