Best saddle for FR?

I picked up an SDG Big Boy this season hoping it would hold up. It was a lot more comfortable than the FUNN saddle I had, but the ralls are bent out of shape and the nose now points at my left handlebar grip. I admit I'm not the smoothest rider and I went bigger this year than I have before but I was hoping it would last more than one season. Is this unreasonable? Or are there better, stonger saddles out there that offer the same comfort as the Big Boy

And thus is learned the first rule of Ridemonkey...SEARCH! (or at least look at the front page to make sure no one's already talking about it!)

There is a difference in a DH seat vs a FR seat.... I dont get why you guys are giving him crap for not using search. For DH anything light and strong. For FR anything strong and comfortable. Since you spend a lot of time in the seat pedaling when FRing it must be comfy. When DHing you rarely sit and if you do its only for a second or two.

Yeah, I guess, but I would give him the same recommendations I gave in the other thread: Italia Flite, Italia Nitrox, SDG Bel Air, Fizik Nisene. Light, comfortable and strong.

my fav. by a long shot! I've tried many others and only ended up with a broken saddle or hurting ass. Even the same shaped saddle the El Norte and I even thought it sucked compared to the Bezerker DH KCX, this will end up on any of my freeride/dh rigs. so comfy

Kanter, it's not that anyone's mad that he didn't search...it's just that there's a lot of info on that thread that people aren't going to bother to repeat to him, so he'll miss out on a lot and feel like no one's paying attention to his question. Then again, if he chimed in on the thread, someone would probably get on his ass for derailing the thread from the original post...sheesh, this place CAN be picky sometimes.

I already said it in the other thread but I'll say it again here:

My titec berserker DH has been going for over two years without a single stitch coming unraveled, the leather is faded and worn, the kevlar edge is a little shabby looking, the stitching even looks worn, but miraculously nothing has separated. I really don't care what it might look like at this point, as long as it doesn't fall apart entirely I'll keep riding on it.

That said, saddles are a lot like shoes, you really have to try it on to know if it will be comfortable to you.

Saying a saddle is "good for freeride" is garbage. Freeriding encompasses many styles and levels of riding, from dirt jump/flow rider/tech types to big drop/teeter totter/ewok village types. And everything in between.

If the dude is bending his seat rails, he's probably gonna bend the rails on just about any seat. A buddy of mine bought the Brooklyn seat because he had a tendency to destroy seats, well lo and behold, he destroyed that sucker in like 2 rides too.

I like the titec saddles, but my experience has been that they all explode very prematurely (stitching gives out).

My new favorite is the Fizik atlas or nisene
Those Fiziks are nice, and the scuff guards have like 10 different colors for the discriminating bike whores out there!

I use this saddle, for Freeride, dh, urban and fourcross. It;s so comfy, you can sit on it the whole day.. especially when you land on it.

I bought this saddle from someone i know, for this purpose and never regret it for a moment.
i definatelt second using a BMX seat, ive been on mine for a year
and its great, strong, comfortable even on longer rides (which i found very suprising) hey it even has handles so i can learn supermans one day
previous cheap saddles lasted my a month at most

only a couple of downsides, its realitvely heavy for its size
and if you wanna do DH racing, it will limit how you can transfer your weight on it, but thats only if you move around on your seat during racing
really you shouldnt be sitting

Thanks for all the replies, sorry to take so long to chime back in but I work way too much. I am thinking about picking up the berzerker DH KCX but I am gonna ride a friend's bike with an Azonic love seat too. I loved th Big Boy but its beat now. I think I'll replace my crappy pedals too cause I think half the reason my seat is dead is that I was slipping of the gripples SNAFU pedals that came stock on my bike.
