I am looking at getting a Thermal Arc Arc Master 185 for frame welding and want to see if anyone had any time with this machine or an overall opinion about it. I have considered the miller dynasty 200 but have troubles with it costing the extra $$. I want to buy US but have problems with holding out till I can afford the miller, is it that much better? I should also point out that I want an inverter type welder but would be interested if anyone who has had time on both talk about their experience.

Are you looking to weld both steel and aluminum? If not aluminum then you can get a DC only TIG and it will cost way less than having one with an AC converter. The Miller is the way to go in any case. Its good to spend the extra money now so that you have something nice.

I'm running a Miller Syncrowave 250, it runs great, has a steady arc etc. But.. It is quite a bit larger than an inverter.
I prefer Miller for Tig but ThermalArc makes some good equipment. I know a few welders that only buy ThermalArc. Check out Lincoln too, they are another solid machine.
