But they do look good!!!

and lets be real whats More important to 75% of the riders out there .
I agree that they look good, but they are the stupidest product out there.
I hate them.

Confession: I have a front carbon clincher wheel, no rear. But it's on my commuter, so no high-pressure tire.

I was surprised someone made a carbon clincher, the first one I've seen. Most carbon wheels have an aluminum brake/clincher part. Why is it stupid? Can carbon not hold the pressure or something?

It's partially that, and partially that the wear of the surfaces.
I just think that the carbon clinchers are going to be a lot heavier than the tubulars, and I don't think carbon lends itself to the rim shape. Tire levers, etc, all bad things to use on carbon things...

That said, I do have a set of carbon MTB wheels right now, and I really, really do like them a lot. It's mostly for road that I'm so against them.

Well Holding the presure is one thing , But I don't like hte idea of my Braking surface being Carbon also.
They make special brake pads for carbon rims. Most cyclocross pros run deep dish, tubular, carbon rims...they seem to hold up to excessive braking

Most cyclocross pros have more wheels than I have pairs of pants.
That is very true....they tend to have tons of sets with different tread/tire width sewn up. Thats the big bitch with sew up, no quick tire changes :(

Also, you *need* specials pads for carbon rims, it's not for rim wear, it's for braking power and feel.

The SwissStop Yellows are the best out there BTW...
