Please oh Please lets save all the houses that where damaged by a hurricane over 2 years ago. Why build new buildings when we have thousands of them waiting to be torn down.

I disapprove of ANY money being spent there for reconstruction of any kind.

EVERYone says it's a matter of time before it gets destroyed again. I say let only private investment and private buyers NOT using any Federal money do whatever they want.

Oh i almost agree but don't forget that the mississsippi river changes all that.
From oil,petro chemicals, seafood, shipping etc......New Orleans sits in a very important location.

On the flipside, other places in the ol' US of A are catasrophe prone so what about using fed dollars to continually rebuild there?

I think it's idiotic to build anywhere there is a likelyhood of catastrophe without the proper protections/support in place.

For example, I'm fine with rebuilding N'Awlins if they built a proper sea wall around it. To build something that a category five would laugh at really seems pointless.

Brad Pitt is building houses down there, but they're all going to be on stilts that can handle the flooding. He's an actor! WTF?
