Most of my riding so far has been aggressive XC. I weigh 200#. I really like the burly nature of the Big Hit but it may be overkill for my riding- rock gardens, 4' max drops (so far), single track, climbs etc. Any advice on how to make the right choice? Thanx

I'm a big guy as well (235lbs) and have had a Big Hit DH and an Enduro in the past year. While the Big Hit is definately nicer on pure downhill the Enduro works so much better if you need to pedal. I put well over 100 runs down Whistler on my Enduro and it held up fine, and I was hitting 8' drops all day (to tranny of course). If you're not planning on going huge and will be pedaling go with the Enduro. They have a great resale so if your riding style changes radically you can always sell the frame and buy a Big Hit.

The SX might be good mix between the two...

As soon as the local dealers get the '04 SX in stock I'm picking one up. I test rode an '03 and found the cockpit of the SX was more like my freeride hardtail, but the SX suspension was enough to smooth out the bumps.

I used to have a BigHit as well, but since both the BigHit and Hardtail are gone and I can't afford two bikes again, I'm giving the Enduro SX a shot.

I want to move to BC!!!
I was in the same dilemma, Enduro or Bighit, for frame only choices for exactly the same riding and rider weight. I am 6.1 95kg, and since the only options are the bighit DH , Enduro Sworks and Enduro SX , i ll go with the SX which is basically a FR/DH friendly (in terms of durability) version of the enduro, or to put it another way, a more pedalling friendly version of the bighit. SX for me....
