I have a folder on my computer labeled as such, where I put pictures of of my failed parts, bikes, etc.

Yesterday, got to the enduro race nice and early, sat around for a while, but decided to take a lap on the lower jump trail to just make sure everything was running nice. Once I got to the bottom, I noticed this:

It's not the first time..it's the second time for me. I have 5 sets of carbon rims for 10 rims total and this is the second one I've done this to. I think failed in much the same way as the first, slamming it on a rock with pressure too low. I think it happened 2-3 rides before this enduro though and the lap on the jump trail just made it propagate more to where I noticed it. It was holding air just fine though. So I had to head back home fast, take the spare Spank wheel that I built up and switch over the cassette and tire and race back to the start of the race, which the director actually held for me.

Ironically, someone busted a rim during the race, a metal Spank, but same thing, running pressure too low and I suspect it's where I cracked the carbon rim. I kind of enjoy building wheels anyway and I have a whole bunch of new nipples, so it'll be pretty easy.

I may try to repair this one after getting a new rim, I has some extra carbonz.

So, what 'cha got? Let's see some pictures.

Old M turner I broke, mostly because I was running a frame size too small (yes, they took care of me).

Pretty sure this is the failure mode of EVERY carbon rim that breaks.

After the *professional* carbon repair shop told me they don't touch carbon wheels, I took that as rim repair is inadvisable...

Sram Quality!
To be fair, it withstood two different bikes over 5 years, plenty of DH races and park, smacking the arm into lots of rocks, and just about everything under the sun that you could throw at it. One of those things that I wasn't too upset to see go, since I definitely got my use out of it.

I haven't broken any parts for ages, well I did spend $100AU on a Tune carbon cage and a drink bottle.
It was utter shit so I stomped on it and threw it in the bin, does that count?
