Just found out that the wife is surprising me with a trip out to Tahoe for a week next week.

In my stable I have my Morewood Izumu with 8.5" of travel, or my Nomad. The Izumu I think is more outfitted to the rigors of N*, but I wanted to run it by the big brains in the room.

We're also going to ride the trails at Sky Tavern, Geiger and Karpellis. Again, which bike if I can bring only one would you bring?

if you want to bomb down the trails than i would definitely go with the Izumu. Livewire and Gypsy have some nice 4 foot rock drops but they are sort of to flat. bring extra tubes!! lots of rocks

Not familiar with the other trails you mention but for the Star, bring the squishiest bike you have, with the toughest tires. In other words, your Moorewood. A buddy of mine rode his Nomad there last weekend and did ok, but he was definitely wishing for more squish, slacker angles, and bigger tires.

Izimu most definately. My Izimu does well up there.....
