I'm moving to san francisco and am wondering what the best type of lock is. I've never really had to worry about bike theft but I certainly do now. Also I'm looking for bay area rides and riders. Thanks

Don't buy a Kryptonite lock.

Master Lock street cuffs seem to be pretty strong.

grade 70 chain with a good American Lock.

or hex-profiled chain, if you can find it.

I wouldn't knock myself out. I still use a Kryptonite NY U-Lock with a cylinder mechanism, and I go to movies and bars.

Any decent U-Lock should do the job.
