I currently drive a “stylin’” ’93 T-bird. What can I say….I just bought property in So. Cal. (it ain’t cheap) and the car was free, plus I’m going to start commuting starting Monday and the 6 banger gets decent MPG.

Here’s the thing; with my XC bike, I can just pop off the wheels and stick the thing in the trunk, but I’m getting more and more into freeride/mellow downhill riding (which means I’ll be changing bikes pretty soon.)

Does anyone make a receiver mounted bike rack that can accommodate 4 bikes with wide tires without removing the wheels? I looked around and couldn’t find what I was looking for…..

If I can’t find something, it looks like I’ll break out the torch and welder (scary!)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link! That looks like it would work pretty good.....but $400 is a little steep at this point (need to save cash for the new bike!) it will also only hold 2 bikes and I'd really like to be able to hold four....

Has anyone made something like this? Anyone have any plans or pics???

Thanks a bunch,

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
I would check out Sportworks. The Freeride/DH only carries 2 bikes, but there is a 4 bike version as well. They're a little pricey, but AWESOME!!! I have the Freeride/DH and a roof rack (for the XC bikes) and I rarely use the roof rack anymore because the Sportworks is so solid and easy to use....well worth the $!!!

Yakima also has a hitch mount and so does Saris (I believe it's called Cycle-On).
