Hey South Monkeys. I'm headed home (WAY SW Virginia) in 10 days and I"m in the market for a new bike. If a man's looking for a good shop in Asheville or Boone, where might he go? I know it's not likely but I'd like to find one with some DH bikes to sit on and get a feel for what I want.

Billy Goat Bikes in Asheville is probably your best bet for having DH stuff in stock. I've never been, but have only heard good things.

I would recommend Billy goat as well. Another place to look is Magic Cycles at Beech mountain. They have a rental fleet of glories and trances.

Motion Makers is another good shop in the Asheville area. Magic and Boone Bike have a downhill rental fleet. Magic usually has an assortment of 661 gear and Boone Bike is a Troy Lee Designs dealer.
