being myself, i dont like spending lots of money on things. i needed a bike stand and didnt want to pay the money for one so i made one...i used 3/4" galvanized pipe and some elbows and a cross pipe. it holds the bike under the seat (i didnt know what to do about a clap for the seat post) it does a great job and i payed only $30.

You can get clamps for firly cheap that will bolt on (meant for a desk or wall mount).

you are definitely going to want to make up a clamp of sorts for it. working on bikes that are moving all around sucks.

yeh im starting to realize that. where can i find those clamps? i looked but could not find any.

Park makes some bench and wall mount ones that would bolt up to a 4 bolt pipe flange pretty easily. They are probably fairly pricey however.

Yeah, I think those are over a hundred bones...Vice grips sound like they might cause some problems...

Get down to one of those giga-sized Home Despots. I seem to remember seeing mountable clamps designed for pipe in the one in AZ. Should be perfect.

some thing like this would work. it has a 4 bolt flange to. what kind of fork you have on that bike? its an FSR XC right?

yeh its a 05 FSR XC Comp. but i but on a drop off fork.

and its a 3/4" threaded pipe so i could just screw it on to the elbow at the top instead of the 10" pipe and i can get some rubber and cut it and glue it to the clamp.

I recall a PVC bike stand someone built (I think it was here) that had calmps too. I think a search would work, or google.
