I have a bike that I want to start riding dual and 4x on. It has 5" fork in front and around 6,5" of travle in the rear. It uses 24" wheels, and riding 2.1 tires. It has a low back end and pedals really well.

Will this type of bike make it at a slalom or 4x race. it may be good for some if the rougher 4x races, but is it too huge for dual.

Any input which equipment is good for dual would be great.

SInce you are not a pro (neither am I) I would say go for it. It the civilian level, 4x success has much more to do with rider skill than ideal bike set up than it does in the pro ranks. If you shocks have adjustable damping, slowing it down might help you since you normally would not need all of that travel on a 4x course.
