President Bush actually rides a mountain bike and he supports open access to national forests and public lands.
As a MTB'er I can easily support such a President.

Yup, chop those forests down, plant some new trees, next year it's all OK again...Oh wait...maybe 20 years for quick growing trees and several hundred for the more interesting species. And replanted forests are not the same. I kind of prefer my forests in their natural state rather than logged and replanted in 'nice straight lines'. Plus what about soil erosion? What about destruction of habitat and ecosystem for all the flora and fauna that depends on the forest? In case you hadn't noticed species tend to die out when their environment is removed. You can't replant hundreds of thousands of years of natural development. Once a forest is logged, it's gone.
But, don't worry about all that other stuff, as long as you can make a stupid sweeping statement and Bush gets a few extra votes, who gives a fvck about genetic diversity, or global warming? Chop that **** down.
