One sure fire sign you are a mountain biker is having biking dreams.
Semi lucid recaps of the last ride are the usual for me. Recounting the no-dab discection of a descent or that meaty air off of a rock outcrop. If your lucky and had enough beer you'll get that "speeder bike from star wars" dream:love:

Last night was a weird one though, it was a race dream. I was at some race, my fork had just died. I asked for help and some wrench set me up with a '98 Manitou Xvert:rofl: I remember bieng all "WTF?" I think this was a preventive maintenance dream:rofl:

I always have a dream that I can manual around forever. It is pretty sweet since it is so effortless and for some reason I never lose speed and can cruise around on flat ground.

In mine, I have wings and I can just fly on sections I don't want to ride, and then touch down and take off.

I had a dream once where I was wheelieing all over the place. When I woke up I was all "Yeah! I can wheelie now!"
No such luck. I'm still the same unbalanced goofus I always was, and that I now know I will always be. I've come to terms with it. But for a couple of moments there, I was stoked...

I constantly have this dream and it's frustrating because in my dream I "feel" myself doing it and it's all the more life-like -- but I wake up without the same perfect balance I had in my dream. It's really frustrating actually :/

Hahah! I thought I was the only one who had the starwars speeder bike dream. Does yours usually end up about to hit a tree when you wake up with the most spastic knee and arm jerk of your life? Last time my g/f fell outta bed laughing at me.

The other day I had a dream that I scored a new ride and was playing around with it in front of my place. I woke up all stoked, sure I got a new bike to play with. I even got ready really fast so I could ride it before class when I realized the whole thing had been a dream.

I have the wheelie/manual dream all the time. Just the other night I had a trials dream where I was hopping all over the place on my back wheel just like Ryan Leach. Yeah like that's ever going to happen in real life....

Wow, I can't believe that others have this same dream...I was always sooo disappointed to wake up and not be able to wheelie! Fortunately I have finally had a break-thru this season and have picked up the skill a little. Not nearly what I could do in the dream, though...

The other recurring dream happens with both mtb and snowboarding - I'll dream I'm at the mountain and all excited to ride but things keep interfering with my ability to get on the lift, trails, etc. Frustrating as all get out!!! :mumble:

I had a snowboard one like that years ago. I was about to go snowboarding with a friend and it never happened...

That sounds so funny. You should have your girlfriend film you, and then post it here.

I used to dream about skate tricks I wanted to do because studies have shown that if you can dream the skill real enough (as in the feeling, the motion, the balance) that it makes it easier to learn.

I haven't tried it with bike dreams, but it did work for some skate tricks. I learned how to kickflip that way.

I've read that too. It seems you brain takes sleepy time to internally process all that stuff. Based on that theory, as many times as I've dreamed I could manual up and down the block you'd think I'd be able to do it by now, but still no.

It worked for me with sex but the bike skills still elude me. Maybe I need more bike dreams and fewer sex dreams. Then again, I kinda like it this way

I had a dream that a group of my friends and I went to a MTB resort type place that was supposed to rock. I was excited as all get out. The facilities were awesome etc etc...then the riding totally sucked it was all car sized boulders that I had to carry my bike uphill over. I then witnessed some other poor rider being attacked by those reaver things from the "Serenity" movie. I called 911 then they started stalking me. I went into the resort's bar/grill and noone would help me. I ended up hiding around a corner and knocking the guy out with a chair. Then I woke up.

Weird dream. I had just watched Serenity that night also.

Exactly, you find that "pocket" where you balance perfectly. In real life though, I think my pocket has a hole in it, because I keep falling out.
Good topic Noah!
