Hey guys

we want to take a downhill holiday in austria. need advise:

1- schladming (planai) park, is it better than leogang? should we make our camp there, and travel to leogang for couple days?
are the trails there more versatile, and will provide more options for fun than leogang?
2. does anyone know the driving time from schladming to leogang? is it resonable to do it daily?

thanks

do it the other way round

in Leogang you have the Leogang bike park and the trails in Saalbach and Hinterglemm. all in about 30minutes driving time, and you can do a "Freeride Tour" with moderate climbs to do all the trails there

not sure about the driving time from leogang to schladming
google maps claims about 1h 20min which sounds about right

Leogang has more trails but if Saalbach has nothing really nice than Imo Planai is more worth it as Leo trails are in very bad condition, crowded and not really that amazing but it also depends what you like more. Djs, jumps and 4x than go Leo if DH go Schlad.

leogang wasnt to steep, and we do like our speed. the question is if schladming can offer enough trails for 10 days of riding? or should we really make our base camp in leogang and just travel between the 2?

last time we were there saalbach was crap. the trails werent maintained, cows on the trails, did 2 runs and went back to leogang.

so...

is schladming got enough entertaiment to offer? or make the leogang area the base camp?

do a roadtrip, add wagrain, add mayrhofen and maybe the new nordketten trail in innsbruck and you'll have a nice journee
There is something in Mayerhofen?
Also I've heard they've closed the trail in Nordpark. Is it something new?

Schladming is not a bikepark, but it has has one great track from top to bottom (divided from top to the middle Station and the famious WC Track from the middle Station to the bottom) + a 4cross Track.

Bikepark Wagrain is about 15 Minutes away.
Bikepark Leogang is about 60 Minutes away.
Saalbach in about 45 Minutes away.

Schladming has some restaurants and bars, in Leogang there is not really much todo.....

mayrhofen started this year with building 2 trails. plus the whole unofficial trails in the valley it's perfect for freeriding. nordpark reopend this year under the new name nordketten singletrail.
