In the winter? I dont think your allowed to at most hills. Why would you want to anyway? The snow would be so thick youd hardly be able to move.

with all due respect, I hope not.

I'm not sure if you're talking about bikes with wheels or sleds. Either way, just sounds dumb. What happens when you crash? Even with a leash, you've still got an uncontrolled situation of a mass of metal flying around.

The occassional loose ski or pole is bad enough. And I won't even get into the retarded boarders who think the mt is theirs.

yeah yeah yeah. Basically I just want to hit up the terrian park. I think it would be mad fun gaping 30 foot tables and getting 12 feet of air, crankworx style. The jump size for skiers is so much bigger than bikers, im just envious.

And I hate uptight skiers that think they are better than everyone else.

Do you think your parents will allow it after you let your bike fall off the car?

You don't want to do it. Unless the snow is VERY hard, it isn't any fun at all. Our local mountain has had races through the terrain park. It makes for some interesting racing, but you can't get any air.
They must do something to harden the snow for those huge redbull events.

Gore Mountain in North Creek NY has a snow DS race every January. Also, Hunter Mtn. in the Catskills used to have a snow DH race. I remember hearing someone hitting 50+ mph...the race was obviously straight down a ski slope.

Plattekill might....depending on when it snows - they had a foot on 10/30 last year and allowed biking.

You can use either but I imagine that a ds bike would handle a bit better, depending on conditions. I've never done the race before but hope to do it this year. It's advertised poorly, ie, "Come and watch silly people ride their bikes in snow" kind of thing, like it's an amusement for skiiers or something. Gore (and ORDA) personally turn me off.

There was a dual slalom race on a local slope back in March. Looking back on it, it was one of the hardest things I've ever ridden. Keeping the rubber side down was extremely difficult. Most everybody was on a DS bike. There were a few big fullies too.

There was a thread with pictures but I believe the starter of the thread was banned for being a dillhole and all his posts were deleted. I can't find it anywhere. That's unfortunate.

Here, at least I can repost some of my pictures:
