Black Elite ?

Ok, I was out riding the other day and noticed a weird creaking sound coming from the from end of the bike. Realized I had the travel adjuster wound down to 100mm. Now, usually, the dial only turns three full turns either way (clockwise/counter-clockwise).

However, when turning the dial counter-clockwise to give the full 120mm travel, it kept going!! After the fourth or fifth full turn, I stoped for fear of having everything pop out the top of the leg. (Not good when you're 10+ mile from the car and it's 45min from sunset.) The sound went away after the adjustment, but it just didn't seem right that the dial would keep going like that.

So, what do you guys think? Anyone every experience this before? Oh yeah, the bike is only 3 months old. Has about 100hrs on it.

as I recall the earlier forks produced were notorious for this exact problem, you'd have to search pretty far back to find the remedy because I am not sure of it never having owned this particular fork. I'd think if you called manitou they'd know what the problem was and possibly offer an upgraded dial.
