Alright so here is my bike:

Should i put a black or silver seatpost on it? I have a black and white Tioga seat. I'm thinking silver because it will go with the crowns, stem, spring, and disks...But you can never go wrong with black

On my AC1 everything matches perfectly - why don't you just send it over here, I'll save you from the stress associated with trying to get it to match.

Thomson made one or two purple anno posts a while ago, it was totally sick. By which I mean totally ugly. But on a sweet DH rig like that, it would rock out.

Naaa Silver Thomson, Black always scratches or marks, silver also scratches bit it doesn't show up as much.. So I say Silver.

NB I have a black seat post at the mo, hence why I say; SILVER! lol

LX cranks? Wow, seems like you just can't kill some components...

Your seatpost should always match your stem. I would be ashamed to ride one that didn't match. ;)

Does it work to have mismatched stem and post if you use the same mismatch on post clamp and headset? IE, I have a silver king HS and black Thomson stem and a silver thomson post and black salsa clamp on my dean.

That bike just sounds downright unridable.

My Maxim Fall Fashion Guide says that for 2004 brushed aluminum is out and greased-up skanks with great knockers are in.

Wow, those are nice brakes, oh, and that fork, it's pretty badass too! ;) ;) :p
Haha yeah thanks Fulton.

I'd get new cranks but the LX are running strong. I tryed to break them on my last bike but i ended up ovalizing my headtube.

I'm gonna borrow a black seatpost from a friend and then buy a sliver one in a week or so.

agreed, I don't descriminate. All skanks are created equally.
I didn't say "big," I said "great." While I don't discriminate between big, medium, and small, I sure as hell discriminate between good and bad. Bad is just... well... bad.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick bike man, what kind of fork is that??? BTW, I've got a good friend who lives down in Encinitas. He mainly surfs and snowboards but I built him a FR/DH bike this year and he leaves it up here as he fly's up every couple of weeks. Where do you guys ride around there? I'm sure he'd like to ride down that way but he leaves it here as he doesn't know any spots around there.?

I went thru that same choice comparing when I built up my bike but if you compare the difference in person you will realize that chrome is only good as an accent. If your frame is black your post should match. If your frame is chrome or colored then get a chrome one. You shouldn't even have to compare post colors because it not like you have chrome bars, hubs, cranks, stem, etc...
Black it out and get chrome stix instead.
Oh, everyone is right about the Thomson Elite.

White Brothers DH2.0. One of the best forks on the market imho.
