I was riding in a bunch of mud and when I got back to the parking lot I realized that the shock was froze, it doesn’t push down or rebound it’s kind of like it’s locked out but I don’t have that feature on this shock. Does that mean it’s broke?
It’s a 2001 Mars Manitou Elite Air. What are my options? Do I take it to the shop and have them send it in? What does that usually cost? Is there anything I can do myself?
What, what what?

I had a very similar problem with my fox rear shock. I cased a jump pretty bad, and when I got back to the parking lot, I realized it felt locked out. I waited a few minutes then turned all of the dials a few times and it went back to normal.

I dont know if it actually does. I've had this fork for a year raced it and 15 to 20 times including several endurance races and it has been trouble free. But maybe there are some more durable forks on the market?

yea i downloaded the manual this morning but am having problems printing it. Hehehe machanically-inclined yes, smart well:monkey: . I'm going to look in to it and see if it's possible for me to do it. I dont want to pull it appart and not be able to get it back together:dead: :)

the fork just needs to be rebuilt. a longggggggggg time ago when i ran a manitou it used to do that after muddy races. it just needs to be takin apart and cleaned. another good bet would be to have your LBS rebuild the fork.
