No not from THAT!!!

I have XL (glove) sized hands and have suffered from calluses that would break open on the pads of the upper palm where pinky and ring finger are. This made it very painful to hang onto the bike while downhilling. I had been running ODI Intense grips which I liked because they are small and easy to hold on to. At the suggestion of a friend I switched to the ODI Oury lockons which are much thicker. This eases the wrap in my hand and keeps the skin from folding where I get the calluses. I'm cured!!! Just thought I'd pass this on to other sufferers. Size matters. :p

umm i dunno some people just get blisters a lot. usually if you play a sport like baseball or golf you usually wont get them after like the first few months because your gripin junk all the time. o you could just get blisters easily i know a lot of people (usually who dont so physical labor a lot) that get blisters every time they ride. O r i could be from what i like to call (Over-whackification)

I tend to get them a lot when I go DJing since I twist a lot on my grips. for me it all comes down to what gloves I use...some will cause me to get bad calluses, some don't. If I wear gloves that have any kind of loose fabric in the palm area when I wear them, then it's pretty much a given that I'll get them.

Calgary, Canada eh?
I get massive ones, I havnt been able to find a pair of glvoes that fit my hands in a long time (my hands are stupidly big). I find using thinner grips helps for some reason.

Hey you sound like me. I stab mine with needles and don't feel a thing :mumble:

How are those oury grips? My hands aren't that big, I wear a M-L sized glove. I think I'd end up gettin arm pump with thicker grips. Gonna give lizard skin moabs a shot next.

I've noticed a bit more arm pump with them. But being able to grip the bars without pain is worth it.

The main problem I have is it's been so wet on the east coast this year my gloves get soaked and it softens up the skin around the calluses which splits open. The larger grip makes it so the skin there doesn't bunch up as much and cause a pressure point.
